STEP 1
Choose the Right Pallet !
Choose the Right Pallet !
- Find a sturdy pallet: opt for standard wooden or plastic pallets that are in good condition
- Choose the right size: most common pallets are EUR 1 [80 cm × 120 cm × 14.4 cm] (31.5 in × 47.2 in × 5.7 in) load of up to 2,490 kg.
- Inspect for damage: avoid using pallets with missing boards or in poor condition.
STEP 2
Stack Your Goods Properly
- Stack the boxes: place the boxes in columns or interlocking them for increased stability
- Balance the weight: place heavier items at the bottom, ensuring even distribution
- Mind the height: keep the height under 220 cm (pallet included).
STEP 3
Control the load
- Do not overhang: make sure that your goods do not hang over the edges of the pallet
- Keep it flat: strive for a flat top surface to minimise the risk of damage and to facilitate stacking pallets on top of each other during shipping.
STEP 4
Secure the Load
- Wrap and strap: Use stretch film, bubble wrap, and straps to tightly secure your load on all sides
- Ensure stability: The wrapping and strapping process should leave the load stable and secure, reducing the risk of shifting or falling during transport.
STEP 5
Label Your Pallet
- Remove old labels: start fresh by removing any old shipping labels
- Place the label: print and affix the shipping labels on all four sides of the pallet.
STEP 6
Final checks
Final checks
- Double-check everything: ensure your pallet is stable, secure, and properly labelled
- Documentation: make sure all shipping and customs documents are completed and attached.
